When is the sun most dangerous for children's skin?

Summer! Sun! Attention! Children!

With the arrival of hot vacation days, children spend more and more time outside in the fresh air. This is the time when they discover the world. Children love adventure, and the sun beckons them to play on the beach, in the mountains or on the alley in front of grandma's house. And this is wonderful, because it has a beneficial effect on the child's organism - it produces vitamin D, strengthens the immune and nervous systems, normalizes metabolism, produces serotonin - known as the "hormone of happiness".

But the sun is not just a friend. It can also be an enemy of the child's health. Children burn much faster and the consequences are not only redness, but also damage to the cells in depth. It has been found that the skin has a memory and such damage may be the cause of developing cancer later in life. The ruthless truth is that a very serious percentage of skin cancer diseases are associated precisely with childhood burns. Therefore, taking care to protect children's skin from the sun is extremely important. This is the reason from the earliest age that we teach the child five basic habits that he must apply alone.

1. Choice of clothes

The clothes that the child wears in the summer should be light, not restrict movement, made of natural materials, preferably cotton or linen. If you are planning a long stay in the sun or a hike in the mountains, don't forget about light clothing with long sleeves.

2. Hat

Teach your child to wear a hat in summer. Make it a mandatory ritual before going out. Let the little one choose this necessary accessory himself - just make sure it has a visor or a brim, made of thin material that protects the face and back of the head and allows the scalp to breathe.

3. Mode of receiving water

Teach the child to drink fluids. After all, water is the body's most important component. The daily norm for a child aged 3 to 7 years is approximately 1.2 - 1.7 liters.

4. Stay in the sun

Parents have an important control role here. The best time to play is in the morning before 11.00 and in the afternoon after 17.00 when the sun is low enough above the horizon. Air temperature above 30 degrees is contraindicated for sunbathing. If you are at the sea or in the mountains – this is an ideal time to rest in the shade.

However, if children are alone and without daily parental supervision, they often forget to go home, engrossed in the games. Give them tasks at home to keep lunch hours busy – reading, helping around the house, movies, indoor games.

It is important to know that children's skin matures by the age of 13. Let the exposure to the sun begin with the tried and tested scheme: The child should not be in direct sunlight for the first time for more than 5-6 minutes. Gradually, this time increases to 10-15 minutes, and later to 40-50 minutes (for the whole day).

However, under these conditions, do not lose vigilance, constantly monitor the behavior of the little one, his mood. The main signs of overheating are lethargy, facial flushing, headache, sweating, in severe cases loss of consciousness may occur. If this happens, immediately take the child to the shade, give him cooled water (let him drink in small sips and put a wet towel on his forehead). Consult a doctor.

5. Sun protection cosmetics

Children's sunscreen is as important as a bottle of mineral water in the summer. Its use should become a habit for the growing child. Teach him to independently lubricate all exposed areas and prominent parts of the face and body - ears, nose, shoulders, knees. They tend to burn first, so protect these areas liberally. Make a habit of reapplying every two hours.

The amount of sunscreen product is equal to a child's paw.

SPF is considered the active ingredient that is absolutely mandatory to use. Sun protection should start from early childhood, and it is good that the factor is as high as possible. Choose cosmetics with a powerful filter system - UVA and UVB, oils and vitamins. Also, don't forget that the products are waterproof.

Driven by the primary concern for the health of our children and to support parents in their desire to provide the safest and healthiest protection, we have created a new generation of Sun Like sunscreens. We have improved the cosmetic formulas according to the special needs of delicate and immature children's skin. We have also complied with the recommendations of the WHO and the American Academy of Pediatrics for the use of sunscreen products in infants and children.

We used the best scientific achievements in the field of children's cosmetics and put them into an entirely NEW FORMULA with gentle, broad-spectrum UVA+UVB filters that act immediately after application and are specially designed for the needs of immature children's skin. They reflect light like a mirror and act on the surface of the skin without penetrating deeply. The new filters provide immediate, safe, secure and a very high degree of protection.

The texture of the children's sunscreen lotion is enriched with Beta Carotene and Vitamin E, it not only protects but also nourishes the skin. Beta Carotene is a provitamin and source of natural vitamin A, it is also a strong antioxidant that helps with a nice, even complexion. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin, providing extremely important hydration for children's skin. It helps retain moisture, preserves collagen and elastin, and keeps the skin nourished and supple.

The new formula does not contain parabens, it is free of octocrylene and homosalate - the filters that were declared by the EC to be unsafe for the body.
